by Bianca Des Jardins

Moments full of endless creative ideas, encounters with great people, the magic of creating and creating. But also the moments of depression, of stasis. Despair and disappointment. With yourself and others. When you suddenly lack the ideas. Receive criticism. Financial instability. Moments of questions. Doubts.
How important is art today anyway? Has art degenerated into an instant-ware and will it endure longer after we skip to the next thing? How much are we still aware about being surrounded by art in our everyday´s lives? In the form of a soundtrack to your own summer love, the cherished picture on the wall or the touching lines that you just happened to read somewhere. Is art valuable even if it´s not consciously appreciated?
With our new series “An artist´s life.” we want to share the stories of the people behind the art and what they have to say about it. Whether you are a photographer, writer, painter, musician, designer, dancer, … here is your chance to share your life as an artist from a behind-the-scenes point of view through short texts, diary entries, thoughts, experiences, stories, doubts & pleasures and opinions.
We look forward to hear from you (anonymously if you wish)
<3 Love, Christine & Sigi
